Inspiration always feels as though it’s around every corner at Christmas time. Whimsical details are on full display, there is never a shortage of delicious sweet treats, and there are plenty of ways to create colour palettes whether your style is more classic or colourful. As a party planner, it’s safe to say, I look forward to this festive season the most throughout the year!
I often think it must be stressful for parents who have children celebrating their birthdays during the holiday season. Schools are closed for holiday breaks, social calendars are filled with parties, and gifts are already being purchased to be placed under the tree. Through Mini Maniacs, we have the great ability to remove stress from parents’ shoulders, plus we are able to help remind children how special they are on their birthdays – holiday season or not!
Instead of planning a party with a mascot or hobby in mind, we thought it would be fun to embrace the season with a winter wonderland theme. To keep the birthday party look feeling luxurious, timeless, and classic, shades of ivory, gold, and silver acted as the palette for the first look.
A white Christmas tree complete with ornaments was a must, and there also had to be presents placed under the tree. Placing presents under the tree is also perfect to do at an actual party! We also love the snowflake backdrop. Because it was created using projections, it felt more modern and even a little whimsical. We had plenty of sweet treats decorated with gold details, and the cake accented with classic Christmas ball ornaments was definitely my favourite. It felt so unique and fun, and it looked particularly beautiful.
In order to create a feminine aesthetic for a sweet girl’s party, we added plenty of bright and light pink accents. A centrepiece of pink roses was added to the sweets table, presents were wrapped in paper with pink touches, and we also added macaroons to the mix. We even decorated the Christmas tree using florals. With just a few changes, a birthday party can easily transform from a celebration perfect for boys or girls to one more suited for girls.
A winter wonderland Christmas birthday party could include ornament painting, Christmas carols, and even a visit from Santa. The options are endless, which makes me eager to plan a holiday birthday party for next year!
